Moose Lottery Drawing

Kittery Trading Post is pleased to host this year's annual drawing of the Maine Inland Fisheries & Wildlife Moose Permit Lottery!

The actual drawing of the winning applicants will commence at 6pm under a large enclosed tent at Kittery Trading Post.  In the past, the event has lasted approximately three hours. Results will be posted on the department's website http://www.maine.gov/ifw shortly after the drawing.

Skinnymoose media will stream LIVE audio/video of the lottery drawing.

This is a great opportunity for hunters and the general public to interact with Inland Fisheries & Wildlife personnel, local biologist and game wardens, who will be present for the drawing.  According to state wildlife biologists, Maine's moose population is estimated at 29,000.  In 2007, 2,880 moose permits were issued with a 71% success rate for hunters.  This year, the Department expects to issue 3,015 moose permits, with no more than 10% of the permits in each wildlife management district issued to nonresidents.
