KITTERY, Maine McIntosh Atlantic Culinary Academy (MACA) joined the holiday spirit at the Kittery Trading Post by creating a gingerbread display for the outdoor retailer. The display, presented by the Gingerbread Architecture Society at McIntosh, was created by four students and one chef instructor. It took over 40 hours to complete the five-foot by three-foot exhibit and is 100 percent edible. The students and chef used 40 pounds of gingerbread, 200 pieces of candy and 40 pounds of confection sugar. "The work that these students do is unbelievable with their knowledge and expertise and we are proud to showcase their talents," said Julie-Lynn Belon, events manager for the Kittery Trading Post, located at 301 U.S. Route 1 in Kittery. McIntosh College is a private, post-secondary college located in Dover.
